Von was transported to a hospital with critical injuries and died sometime later on that day, and he was 26 years old during his death. The suspect who shot at him was later identified as a rapper aged 22 called Lul Tim. King Von was buried in Chicago, Illinois on November 14, 2020.

King Von was included in the In Memoriam Montage during the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. In August 2021, a famous artist Chris Devins accomplished King Von’s mural painting in Parkway Gardens, Chicago. This was meant to be a tribute to the rapper at the place where he hailed from.
The mural soon became a subject of controversy among the residents of Chicago as some argued that this mural was an act of glorifying gang violence and that it would end up attracting crimes in the area.
While it was proposed to remove or relocate the mural to some other place, somehow the painting succeeded in retaining the spot.
