Controversies Related to Jim Bridenstine

Jim Bridenstine was chosen by President Donald Trump to take over the administration of NASA, which was a federal agency running on a budget of $18.5 billion and had employed over 18,000 federal workers and more than 60,000 contract employees.

Bridenstine’s choice for the position received widespread criticism as he lacked management experience with any large organization and also did not hold any educational qualification relevant to his position.

His candidature for this post was also attacked on the grounds that he was a skeptic of climate change and was opposed to LGBT Rights.

A review of public records and an investigation revealed that the non-profit museum led by Bridenstine had incurred heavy financial losses as the resources of the organization were used to benefit a firm co-owned and also heavily invested by Bridenstine.

Marc Owens, an expert on tax law at the firm Loeb & Loeb, said, “This is a classic example of the use of a charity’s assets for private benefit.

This could have jeopardized the Museum’s status as a tax-exempt organization” under the IRS code as the museum’s resources were exploited to achieve a huge private benefit.
